MIUI 11 on the Xiaomi Mi 10 adds a useful Video Editor to the MIUI Gallery app
Xiaomi officially unveiled MIUI 11 back in September last year at an event in China. Since then, the company has rolled out the latest version of its Android skin for a vast majority of its devices. As part of MIUI 11, the company introduced a number of new features, including animated AOD functionality, improved visuals, a sky replacement feature in the MIUI Gallery app, and more. Now, according to a recent report from MIUI Polska, the company has introduced a new video editor in the MIUI Gallery app on its flagship Mi 10.
Xiaomi launched its flagship Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro earlier this month at an online-only launch event in China. At the event, Xiaomi showcased its latest and greatest smartphones, along with a couple of smartphone accessories. While the devices are yet to make it to the international markets, the latest MIUI 11 stable update for the devices brings a new video editor to the Gallery app. As you’d expect, the video editor allows you to manipulate videos, without the need to install any third-party applications from the Play Store.
While it isn’t a full-blown professional video editor, it does include some really handy features that will allow users to quickly edit videos. The editor includes default templates to help you edit videos with a single tap, support for adding subtitles (or generating them automatically), the ability to stitch multiple clips together and control their playback speed individually, and more. As you can see in the screenshots above, the video editor also includes the functionality to crop clips, reverse playback, and also add filters and soundtracks to the video. The editor also has a handy timeline right beneath the tools to help users easily scrub through the video.
As of now, the feature is only available on the Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro running the latest MIUI 11 update. However, the publication managed to manually enable the feature on a Redmi Note 7. While the company has not revealed any plans to release the feature to other devices, Xiaomi device owners will be glad to know that the feature will soon make its way to Xiaomi.eu — an MIUI-based custom ROM that packs in a bunch of other additional features.
