MediaTek to unveil a new affordable 5G chipset next week

MediaTek has sent out invites for a May 7 event that will bring a new 5G chipset into the world. And since the tagline is "5G all-inclusive", this will likely be a mid-range offering. The company already has the Dimensity 800 in the mid-range 5G segment as well as the Dimensity 1000 and 1000L for the more premium phones. So, what could it be? Invite to MediaTek's "5G all-inclusive" event on May 7 Leakster Digital Chat Station mentions an MT6853 chip aimed at the entry-level segment. The OnePlus 8T announced last week is now available for purchase in the US through OnePlus' online store with two color options - Lunar Silver and Aquamarine Green.
