vivo S5 name confirmed in new sweet teaser

Last week we spotted a smartphone in the hands of a vivo ambassador, and the device had an unusual setup with four cameras, lined up in a diamond shape. Today the vivo account on Weibo posted a short teaser, revealing the already rumored name of the upcoming device - vivo S5. The tagline of the device is roughly translated as "Illuminate your beauty" and given the vivo S1 and vivo S1 Pro were photo-centric, it is highly likely the vivo S5 will also be a smartphone for people who take plenty of selfies and portrait shots. POCO X2 and Xiaomi Redmi K30 5G forums are now open

Back in December last year, Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi launched the Redmi K30 and K30 5G in China. Out of the two devices, the higher-end Redmi K30 5G featured a Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G SoC, coupled with up to 8GB of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. Building up on the design of its predecessor, the Redmi K30 5G featured a 6.67-inch FHD+ 120Hz refresh rate display with a dual-punch hole cutout for the front-facing cameras, a quad rear camera setup with Sony’s latest 64MP IMX 686 as the primary sensor, and a 4,500mAh battery. The device was released in four color variants at a starting price of CNY 1999 (~$284), making it one of the most affordable 5G devices in the market at the time. OnePlus 6 mod enables 70Hz screen refresh rate for smoother browsing

One of the hottest trends of 2019 and upcoming 2020 devices is high refresh rate displays. While Sharp had been playing around with such displays for a long time, Razer was the first OEM to put out a phone with a 120Hz LCD display in the western market. It didn’t immediately catch on, but other OEMs started slowly playing around with it, including ASUS.
