Motorola discounts a bunch of smartphones for July 4

Motorola is heavily discounting a slew of Moto smartphones as a way of celebrating July 4 in the US. The bad news is that most of the new handsets are not on the list but there are a few midrangers worth considering. The Motorola One Action is the first on the list selling for $249 down from $349 while last year's Moto G7 Play is even less expensive at $129. Continuing with the Motorola One family, the company is asking just $299 for the One Hyper and $349 for the One Zoom - both are $100 off. Alongside the release of Android 8.0 Oreo, Google unveiled Project Treble : a major rearchitecting in the way the Android OS framework and the vendor HALs and Linux kernel communicate. Treble is a major initiative designed to reduce Android platform version and security patch fragmentation , and all Android-branded devices launching with Android Pie are required to support Project Treble. OEMs and vendors test Treble compatibility by booting a Generic System Image (GSI)—a pure stock build of Android from AOSP—and passing the Vendor Test Suite (VTS) and Compatibility Test Suite-on-Generic System Image (CTS-on-GSI). The OnePlus 8T announced last week is now available for purchase in the US through OnePlus' online store with two color options - Lunar Silver and Aquamarine Green. It's priced at $749 and comes with 12GB RAM and 256GB storage.
