Oppo Reno Z debuts with waterdrop notch, Helio P90

Without much publicity, Oppo has officially unveiled the fourth member of the Reno line - the Reno Z. The phone is listed for reservations on Oppo's own site as well as popular online retailer JD.com. By all accounts, this will be the least impressive model in the Reno series with toned down specs and a more affordable price point. The Reno Z features a 6.4-inch AMOLED screen with FHD+ resolution and a waterdrop notch at the top for the 32MP selfie cam. The display supports HDR 10 and features a built-in fingerprint scanner. Alongside the release of Android 8.0 Oreo, Google unveiled Project Treble : a major rearchitecting in the way the Android OS framework and the vendor HALs and Linux kernel communicate. Treble is a major initiative designed to reduce Android platform version and security patch fragmentation , and all Android-branded devices launching with Android Pie are required to support Project Treble. OEMs and vendors test Treble compatibility by booting a Generic System Image (GSI)—a pure stock build of Android from AOSP—and passing the Vendor Test Suite (VTS) and Compatibility Test Suite-on-Generic System Image (CTS-on-GSI). The OnePlus 8T announced last week is now available for purchase in the US through OnePlus' online store with two color options - Lunar Silver and Aquamarine Green.
