Unofficial LineageOS 16 brings Android Pie to the Lenovo K6/K6 Power/K6 Note and Tab 4 8 Plus

LineageOS is open-source and one of the most popular custom ROMs available to the community of tech tinkerers. It is also one of the most preferred solutions for installing the latest version of Android on a device that no longer receives software support from the company. While the list of Android devices officially supported by LineageOS is fairly long, many developers take advantage of the open-source nature of the custom ROM and extend support unofficially to many devices which miss out on official updates from manufacturers. The Lenovo K6/K6 Power/K6 Note, as well as the Lenovo Tab4 8 Plus, are among the latest devices to get unofficial LineageOS 16 with Android 9 Pie.

The Lenovo K6 series dates back to September 2016 and was launched with Android 6.0 Marshmallow out of the box. All three – the Lenovo K6, the K6 Note, and the K6 Power – come with fairly similar specifications under the hood including a Snapdragon 430 SoC and up to 4GB of RAM. The LineageOS build for these three devices is currently in alpha phase and you may come across some bugs, but there’s nothing like running stock Android Pie on a smartphone that is nearly three years old.

The Lenovo Tab 4 8 Plus is a premium entertainment-centric tablet that came in a year later. It was powered by Snapdragon 625 and 4GB of RAM, and ran Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box. This ROM is also in the testing phase but most of the things appear to be working well as per the original poster of the thread.
