Huawei P30, P30 Pro, and the unannounced Moto One Vision get added to Google ARCore’s supported device list
Google ARCore’s augmented reality platform has been significantly more successful than the late Project Tango, thanks to the removal of hardware restrictions and the subsequent rollout towards conventional Android flagships. One of the previous updates to the ARCore SDK brought in features like augmented reality selfies, Shared Camera access, animating characters in Scenenform AR apps and ARCore Element integration.
The list of supported devices for ARCore has also been steadily increasing, as recent devices like the Moto G7 series, Oppo R17 Pro, Honor View 20, Nokia 8.1 have all been certified for officially supporting ARCore. Now, the Huawei P30 and the Huawei P30 Pro have been added to this list.
Curiously, the Motorola One Vision has also been added, which has not yet been released officially, meaning that the device will support ARCore right out-of-the-box. This also means that the Exynos 9610 SoC, which is said to be powering the Moto One Vision, has also been deemed powerful enough for the real-time calculations needed for the ARCore experience. The camera and other necessary sensors have also received the seal of approval from Google for this purpose. The Samsung Galaxy A50 with the same Exynos 9610, and the Samsung Galaxy A30 with the Exynos 7904 are also certified for Google ARCore.
The Motorola One Vision, or the Motorola P40 as it would be known in China, will reportedly come with a 6.2″ punch hole display. The phone will have dual rear cameras, of which the primary shooter will be a 48MP sensor employing Quad Color Filter Array technology for taking better 12MP shots. The phone is expected to have 3GB and 4GB RAM options; 32GB, 64GB and 128GB storage options; 3,500 mAh battery; a USB Type-C port and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Renders of the phone have leaked in the past. However, it is still unknown when the device will be officially launched.
