Artist Behind OnePlus Wallpapers Releases Entire App With Hundreds of 4K Wallpapers

The artist behind the wallpapers found on OnePlus devices, Hampus Olsson, has done his usual blog post that shares all of the new wallpapers you’ll find on the OnePlus 7 Pro. However, this release is a bit more exciting, as he has also announced the release of Abstruct, an entire wallpaper app featuring 300+ wallpapers in 4K resolution. 

Inside the app, you’ll find various works from Olsson, as well as all of the work done for OnePlus (including the new OnePlus 7 Pro wallpapers). There are various categories to choose from, too, such as Void, Poly, Topology, and Paranoid. I’ve gone over most of the wallpapers and I’m in love. 

The app is free to download, though, some of the wallpapers are behind a reasonably priced paywall of just $1.99. This in-app purchase gets you all of the wallpapers and all future wallpapers that come to the app. Plus, you’re supporting an artist that makes some great work.

OnePlus 6 mod enables 70Hz screen refresh rate for smoother browsing

One of the hottest trends of 2019 and upcoming 2020 devices is high refresh rate displays. While Sharp had been playing around with such displays for a long time, Razer was the first OEM to put out a phone with a 120Hz LCD display in the western market. It didn’t immediately catch on, but other OEMs started slowly playing around with it, including ASUS. OnePlus was responsible for reviving the concept again with the OnePlus 7 Pro and its 90Hz AMOLED display , and ASUS released the ROG Phone II with a first-of-its-kind 120Hz AMOLED display. Alongside the release of Android 8.0 Oreo, Google unveiled Project Treble : a major rearchitecting in the way the Android OS framework and the vendor HALs and Linux kernel communicate. Treble is a major initiative designed to reduce Android platform version and security patch fragmentation , and all Android-branded devices launching with Android Pie are required to support Project Treble. OEMs and vendors test Treble compatibility by booting a Generic System Image (GSI)—a pure stock build of Android from AOSP—and passing the Vendor Test Suite (VTS) and Compatibility Test Suite-on-Generic System Image (CTS-on-GSI).
