Apple settles over Powerbeats 2 design defect, will pay $9.75 million

Apple just agreed to settle the dispute over a design flaw plaguing the Powerbeats 2 headphones outside of court. The company didn't admit that there was indeed an issue with the 2014 Powerbeats 2 but it said it's easier and cheaper to settle without having to go to court. As a result, Apple has agreed to pay out $9.75 million. Apple marketed the headphones as sweat and water-resistant and built to "endure".
