Nubia Red Magic Mars is reportedly coming to India followed by a Snapdragon 855 refresh of the dual screen Nubia X

Nubia is a former subsidiary of Chinese electronics brand ZTE. It is now considered to be an independent associate company after ZTE reduced its stake in Nubia to 49.9% in 2017. In 2018, while ZTE launched the ZTE Axon 9 Pro, Nubia experimented with dual displays in the form of the Nubia X. The Nubia X opened a new modern category of dual display smartphones on the front and back, and it was followed by the launch of the Vivo NEX Dual Display. Nubia also launched its gaming Red Magic series of gaming phones last year. The first Red Magic was a Qualcomm Snapdragon 835-powered gaming phone, and it launched in China early last year before making its way to India in December.

At that time, Nubia had already launched a successor of the Red Magic in the form of the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845-powered Nubia Red Magic Mars gaming phone. The Red Magic Mars launched in China in November, and it has since made its way to North America and Europe in January. Now, a Nubia executive has reportedly confirmed to 91mobiles that the Red Magic Mars gaming phone will be releasing in India in March.

According to 91mobiles, the price of the Nubia Red Magic Mars in India will be under ₹35,000 ($491). This should make it a decent deal for users specifically interested in a gaming phone, although there are significantly cheaper Snapdragon 845-powered affordable flagships on the market.

91mobiles also states that alongside the Nubia Red Magic Mars, the company will also be launching a Snapdragon 855-powered version of the Nubia X phone. The Snapdragon 845-powered Nubia X was launched in China in October. A Nubia executive told the publication that the company is focusing on “practical technologies and innovations.”

The price of the upcoming Snapdragon 855-powered Nubia X is said to cost under ₹40,000 ($561), but 91mobiles notes that there is no timeline yet regarding the launch of the phone.

In terms of specifications, the Nubia Red Magic Mars features the Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 SoC with Adreno 630 GPU, 6GB/8GB/10GB of RAM with 64GB/128GB/256GB storage, 6-inch Full HD+ (2160×1080) IPS LCD, 16MP rear camera, 8MP front camera, and a 3,800mAh battery with NeoCharge fast charging.

The phone has dual-pipe liquid cooling, a metal back with a honeycomb design, four-way wind convection and three-layer graphene film for heat dissipation. It also has RGB light strips on the back panel with six customizable flash effects. There is also a dedicated e-sports button and Mars Trigger touch-sensitive shoulder buttons for controls. 4D Shock haptic feedback and DTS 7.1 channel audio with dual stereo speakers should lead to a great gaming experience.

The Nubia X, on the other hand, has a 6.26-inch Full HD+ IPS LCD on the front and a 5.1-inch HD+ OLED display on the back in an attempt to have a front with no notch or hole, or even a magnetic slider. The phone has 16MP + 24MP rear cameras, and there is no front camera. The upcoming Snapdragon 855 version’s RAM and storage configurations are unknown for now. The Snapdragon 845 version has a 3,800mAh battery with NeoCharge 3.0 quick charging.
