LG launches the W Series with LG W10, W30, and the W30 Pro in India

The aggressive pricing of smartphones by Chinese brands like Xiaomi has worked wonders for the Indian consumers. This phenomenal success of smartphones with a high value proposition has forced other smartphone manufacturers to cut their profit margins and launch smartphones at lower than their traditional prices. After Samsung pit its new Galaxy M series against Xiaomi’s Redmi in India, LG is now jumping the bandwagon. While LG’s smartphone business, unlike Samsung’s, has not been doing very well globally, the company is looking to revive its lost glory, especially in competitive markets such as India with the launch of the new LG W series, adding three new devices – the LG W10, the W30, and the W30 Pro – to its catalog.

The three smartphones in LG’s new W series are aimed to take on the Galaxy M series and LG is self-proclaiming these to be suitors for the “Winner” in you. LG says the four pillars of this new series are – audio, battery, camera, and the display. Starting with the display first, the LG W30 duo features FullVision HD+ displays with 86% aspect ratios and 19:9 aspect ratios. On the LG W30 and the W30 Pro, users will be able to choose from among three different shapes of the notch. The W10, in contrast, comes with a fixed, iPhone-shaped notch.

In terms of camera, the LG W10 features a 13MP+5MP dual camera setup on the back. Meanwhile the W30 and the W30 Pro feature triple rear cameras with varying configurations. The LG W30 comes with a 12MP Sony IMX486 sensor along with a 13mP wide-angle sensor with 100º FOV and a 2MP depth sensor. The W30 Pro, on the other hand, features 13MP primary sensor, an 8MP wide-angle sensor, and a 5MP depth sensor. On the front, the W10 features an 8MP camera with a selfie flash while both – the W30 and the W30 Pro – are equipped with 16MP selfie shooters.

The LG W10 and the W30 are powered by MediaTek Helio P22 chipsets while the LG W30 Pro uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon 632 SoC. The first two of the list come in 3GB/32GB configuration while the W30 Pro has a 4GB/64GB setup. All the four devices come with 4000mAh battery for an enduring entertaining experience.

To augment this entertaining experience, the W30 Pro comes with a “Stereo Pulse Sound” setup, which includes a hollow resonating chamber to amplify the sound when it’s rested against a flat surface.

All the three devices will come with a near-stock UI and LG took a moment to boast about its ad-free and bloatware-free experience. While the smartphones will be powered by Android 9 Pie out-of-the-box, the company is making no promise of OS updates in the future.

LG W10, LG W30, and LG W30 Pro: Price and Availability

The LG W10 is priced at ₹8,999 (~$130) and the W30 at ₹9,999 (~$145). The price for the LG W30 Pro has not been announced yet, but given its specifications, we expect it to be under the ₹12,000 mark.

As for the availability, all the devices will be exclusive to Amazon India. The W10 and the W30 will have their first flash sale on July 3rd. The W30 Pro, on the other hand, is likely to launch with the Prime Day sale via Amazon India which begins on July 15th.

These smartphones are made exclusively for India in the country itself and will not be sold outside.
