We've been living in a lie for the past month, believing that Samsung's maxed out phablet this fall will be called the Galaxy Note10 Pro, when in fact in will be the Galaxy Note10+. This move makes sense as it follows the usual nomenclature of the Galaxy S10 series - regular and plus. And while we're discussing series, the upcoming Note series is expected to feature three devices - a 6.4-inch Galaxy Note10, a 6.7-inch Galaxy Note10+ and a 5G variant of the latter. OnePlus 6 mod enables 70Hz screen refresh rate for smoother browsing

One of the hottest trends of 2019 and upcoming 2020 devices is high refresh rate displays. While Sharp had been playing around with such displays for a long time, Razer was the first OEM to put out a phone with a 120Hz LCD display in the western market. It didn’t immediately catch on, but other OEMs started slowly playing around with it, including ASUS. OnePlus was responsible for reviving the concept again with the OnePlus 7 Pro and its 90Hz AMOLED display , and ASUS released the ROG Phone II with a first-of-its-kind 120Hz AMOLED display. Since it was discovered that the Xiaomi Mi 9’s display could be overclocked to 84Hz , though, modders started digging around other devices to try to overclock their displays. Alongside the release of Android 8.0 Oreo, Google unveiled Project Treble : a major rearchitecting in the way the Android OS framework and the vendor HALs and Linux kernel communicate. Treble is a major initiative designed to reduce Android platform version and security patch fragmentation , and all Android-branded devices launching with Android Pie are required to support Project Treble. OEMs and vendors test Treble compatibility by booting a Generic System Image (GSI)—a pure stock build of Android from AOSP—and passing the Vendor Test Suite (VTS) and Compatibility Test Suite-on-Generic System Image (CTS-on-GSI). The GSI has proven useful in not only allowing software engineers working for OEMs test Treble compatibility, but it has also opened the door for a large custom ROM community on XDA.
